Even in the post covid era remote working culture is still prevailing. Although there has been an introduction of the hybrid working system, work from home is here to stay.
Let’s have a look at some of the design tips for remote workers for creating a perfect home office:
- Define: It’s important to define the machinery required by you to complete your work tasks. It can be a laptop, printer, notebook, pad, phone, charger, sketchbook, stationery, etc.
- Allocate: Once you have defined your machinery, it’s time to allocate the space for them. You can now define the space required for each of the stuff, resulting in ease of working.
- Where to work: The bed is not a space to work. It can lead to severe health issues in the longer run. It’s advisable to create a small table space either in one of the rooms or on the balcony in case of space constraints.
- Chair: Your seat is the most important item in your work-from-home furniture. It should be a recliner, with wheels & armrest. Also, it should be movable & have a soft seat.
- Enclosure: It’s not advisable to sit in an enclosure all the time. Have space to breathe & move. Also, the work area should be sufficiently illuminated. Poor lighting can make the work mood dull. Try to have natural light available at your work pod.
- Table: Your work table should be spacious & have storage above. All your office-related items should be storable. There should be no scope for keeping the office papers in the rest of the house. This keeps the home clean & clutter-free.
- Lock: It’s also advisable to have locks on your office desk. This avoids any misusage of office assets. Locks are essential in case you have kids at home.
