Aki & Nikki are changing…..changing their MINDSET.
Nikki: Guten Morgen Aki.
Aki: Oh! Good morning in german…kya baat hai. You sound fresh.
Nikki: Just preparing myself for the premium society!
Aki: Thoda jyada ho gaya dear!
Nikki(All smiles): Forget it. Let’s finish off the discussion we started last time.
Aki: Which one?
Nikki: Don’t act smart. You had been thinking about shifting to a premium society, right & we ought to discuss the pros and cons of shifting to a rental apartment today.
Aki: Hmmm..right. Actually, I did not get time to rack my brains on the subject.
Nikki: Do you really want me to kill you…
Aki: Take a chill pill sweetheart! Have a look at these points. I have chalked them down for you.
- No waiting period: If we go on rent, we can shift immediately and fulfill your dream.
- No liability: We have no liability as we can stay there as long as we can afford it.
- No pressure: We can manage it with the funds we possess.
- Fund management: We can put our existing flat on rent. That will help with EMI of the flat.
- Option of owning: If we get comfortable in the new society, we can buy a flat in the same premises in future otherwise we always have an option of coming back to our own house. So, we are always safe & shall never be on streets.
- Generating funds: We can sell our existing flat which can help in generating the funds for the premium flat.
Nikki: Wait, Wait a second. All your points are very influencing but tell me one thing-“Why can’t we sell our existing flat now & buy the premium one?”
Aki: Of course, I really know that you want do things spontaneously. The sheer fact is that there are limited choices in premium flats. I believe it’s better to taste it before buying. The amount of investment is huge & I don’t intend to regret after taking a such a big decision.
Nikki: What if the landlord decides to increase the rent or wants us to leave or we don’t get an option of buying even after we start liking the property? Then there will be a lot of irritation between us.
Aki: Agreed. So, we can go for long lease option. In that case,
we get enough time to settle down.
Nikki: But I still feel we should buy the property. I promise not to question you again if you fulfill this dream of mine.
Aki: Wow! That would be the best thing in the world, but then our life would become boring. Hahahaha…
Aki: You need to understand this that the upmarket home is our
desire and not our need as we already own a property in Pune.
Nikki: True
Aki: We cannot afford one more EMI at this stage and it will take us atleast 5 more years to plan your ‘dream house’.
Nikki: Actually, you are right. I cannot wait for 5 years. Let’s do it now. Let’s go.
Aki: Where??
Nikki: House hunting.
Aki: I guess let’s have some tea now. I have spoken to your aunt. She is happy to help us in finding a residence in her society.
Nikki: OMG! I am amazed. Then let’s meet her tomorrow.
